The Hoodle was formed around 10 years ago and the four members have many years of touring, performing and recording experience under their belts.
Willie Wilson on drums first played professionally alongside David Gilmour in Cambridge band Jokers Wild, was an original member of Cochise, and became the permanent drummer with Quiver. He went on to perform on the concerts and film soundtrack of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” as well as David Gilmour’s first solo album. He has also performed with Lonnie Donegan, Syd Barrett, Joe Brown and Ralph McTell among many others.
Steve Turner on guitars and slide has played thousands of gigs and sessions with Kirsty MacColl, Ralph McTell, Lloyd Green and Billie Jo Spears among many more. The band also have a live album out “Spo-de-o-dee” which legendary guitarist Albert Lee described as “good rootsy stuff, with good sounds and classic tunes, that are well played.”
Emma Spires on bass has played the Cornish music circuit since age 14, supported Wilko Johnson and Little Feat with Blues Connection, and toured the UK with Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett from Little Feat.
Al Stewart on saxophone and clarinet has performed live alongside Imagination, Tom Robinson, Cliff Richard, George Michael, Rod Stewart and Bad Company and has done recording sessions for Go West, Joe Strummer and Stock Aitken and Waterman. He has also worked on entertainment shows for LWT, BBC TV, BBC Radios 1, 2 and 3 and Capital Radio.
